Red

This dry wine is a mild, fruity red wine with soft tannins. It is spicy, with hints of red fruit, leather and tobacco and has been lightly oaked. This red grape was bred in France by Pierre Landot. It was introduced into the United States in the early 1960’s.

White

A fresh, crisp, clean style: dry with citrus overtones. Rich is the word that best both describes Chardonnay and explains its popularity. It's aroma is distinct, yet delicate, difficult to characterize, easier to recognize. It often smells like apples, lemons, peaches, or tropical fruits. It's delicacy is such that even a small percentage of another varietal blended into a Chardonnay will often completely dominate it's aroma and flavor.

Red

This grape produces a deep-colored wine with a full aromatic flavor - with fruity aromas, cherry and earthy/spicy complexities.  Little is known about the exact parentage of Chambourcin.  It was a hybrid developed by Joannes Seibel in the Loire Valley of France, based on a number of undetermined Native American species and Seibel hybrids - released in the early 1960s.

This grape has attractive cherry and berry fruit aromas.  This wine is semi-dry and has big soft tannins with a structure that is complete from the front of the mouth to the back.  Corot Noir is the result of a cross between hybrids Seyve Villard 18-307 and Steuben.

White

The grape's fairly high acidity and low pH levels harmonize with its typically fresh fruit aromas and floral-spicy flavors.  Traminette has classic spicy aromatics with peach, eucalyptus, and slight apricot fruit.

This white wine-producing hybrid, a cross of Gewurztraminer and Joannes Seyve 23-416, produces excellent quality wine with distinct Gewurztraminer characteristics.  Aging well, wine produced from this grape develops honey and apricot flavors in two to five years.  We are very excited about our 2007 vintage.

White

Aromas and flavors of citrus, pear, crisp green apple, sweet peach, and honey and balanced by crisp acidity.  This slightly sweet wine was cool fermented with natural sugar retained.  Vidal Blanc was developed in the 1930s by French breeder Jean Louis Vidal, his primary goal in developing the variety was to produce vines suitable for the production of Cognac in the Charente region of France.  We have 300 vines across the pond.

White

Made from Native American Catawba grape - Sweet and mellow with a medium-bodied, fragrant, strawberrylike wine.  Catawba can often have a very unique candy sweet-tart  flavor.

The Catawba grape flourished along the Ohio River and in the hills surrounding the city of Cincinnati.  By the mid 1800s, Ohio was producing twice as much wine as California and supplied 1/3 of the U.S. wine market.

Red

The wine has a deep red color and attractive cherry and berry fruit aromas. Its tannin structure is complete from the front of the mouth to the back, with big soft tannins. Approximately 120 gallons of our 2009 vintage will be aged in oak barrels (not ready until fall 2009).  This grape is still young and has excellent potential.

The semi-dry version of Trillium comes from the grape. Corot Noir, and was developed by the grape breeding program at Cornell University.  It is a complex hybrid red wine grape.
